The Data & Classification collection explains how State of the Regions defines places and organises indicators — so your analysis is consistent, comparable and defensible. What’s inside:

  • Region type summaries: Concise descriptions of each type (e.g. Metro Centre, Metro Inner, Metro Outer, Metro Periphery, Country Rural, Country Diverse, Remote) plus the core indicators used across extracts.

  • LGA crosswalks: An index that shows every Local Government Area and its region membership to support mapping, roll-ups and consistent reporting.
